The Maher law firm is an AV rated business and litigation firm which was founded in 1992 by Michael K. Maher and Cynthia R. Maher. Prior to forming their own firm, both Mr. Maher and Ms. Maher were partners at large regional and national firms. However, the firm was founded on the mission statement that more responsive and cost effective service could be provided to their clients in a smaller environment. The firm has attempted to turn the clock back to the days when a client could retain high quality lawyers for a reasonable fee. The firm is proud to be the “go to” lawyers for difficult and/or sensitive litigation matters for corporate clients who often use larger firms for their legal services as well. Although the firm is located in Orange County, the firm handles matters in both state and federal courts throughout California.
The firm believes in “hands on” lawyers who are accessible to, and directly interface with, their clients and who individually handle their cases without the assistance of junior attorneys. This type of direct communication with knowledgeable and experienced attorneys produces better and more cost effective cooperation between lawyer and client and enables the firm to tailor strategies to better meet the client’s objectives.
The firm has over 40 years of legal experience in handling virtually every type of business, employment, real estate, environmental, or civil litigation matter. It has represented businesses in almost every industry as well as professionals in health care, mental health law, real estate, finance, and engineering. Many of the firm’s clients have been with the firm for over 20 years.
The firm’s approach is simple. Determine what the client’s objectives are and craft a solution to achieve those objectives in a timely and cost effective manner. Provide the client with the most honest assessment of its legal situation, with the most accurate analysis of the risks, exposure, and costs involved in any strategy and with all available courses of action so that the client can make fully informed decisions. Then represent the client with passion, energy and dedication, and find a way to win the client’s case or solve the client’s legal problem.
Although the firm is proud of its many legal victories, including multi-million dollar results in plaintiffs’ cases, and complete defense verdicts or exoneration when representing defendants, the firm does not define its success on the outcome of litigation alone. Rather, the firm is guided by the principle that it is the client’s case or legal transaction, not the lawyer’s, and that the ultimate success is obtaining a result for the client which serves that particular client’s best interests, which has been obtained in a cost effective manner, and which motivates the client to use the firm’s services again and to recommend the firm to others. |
